Yesterday was a very successful day of carspotting for me. It was the first truly nice day of spring, I gathered up ambition to go for a run in the morning, and on my way home from the run I almost caused an accident turning my neck so hard to see this: the Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
An Aston Martin is my dream car and up until yesterday, I had never even been this close to one. My first reaction? Wow, this is a lot smaller than I thought it’d be. But that’s because the modern version of the Vantage is Aston’s leanest and most agile car in their lineup. It also sports a 380 hp 4.3 liter V8 engine, stiffer cross members than the coupe to maintain performance, and beautiful “swan wing” doors that open slightly upwards.
Why is this my favorite car? Well any Aston Martin would be my favorite, but they’re so unique. Each one is hand built, they look like a luxury car with the performance of a Ferrari, and they always maintain that beautiful front grille. I am truly envious of the one that gets to drive this home every night.
