Even though this event occurred on August 2nd, the cars in here make the post still worth it. And hey, better late than never, right?
This was my first time at Minnesota Cars & Coffee and I have to say, if you’ve never been, you need to go. AutoMotorPlex puts on a better show six time a Summer than some places can put on in an entire year. And trust me, it’s not just for the guys who obsess over brand new Lamborghinis and Ferraris; there is something there for every car enthusiast.
Though the show starts around 7:00 am, I showed up around 9:00 am and had to park far away. That turned out to be awesome, though, because I saw nothing be amazing cars along the road to the actual event! I was actually worried that my camera would run out of space before I even saw the “real” show.
Once I got to MNC&C I was dumbfounded by how large it was. It was easily the size (car-wise) of Automania in South Dakota and they put one on every month! There were thousands of people and hundreds of vehicles from classic muscle to just-off-the-shelf exotic. Every direction I turned my head there was another vehicle I had never seen in person before. The collection of my favorite cars included the Lamborghini Mercielago, the Lotus Super 7, the Mercedes-Benz SLS GT AMG, and of course, the Bugatti Veyron Vitesse.
If you check out the featured image of this post, that is in fact the best picture I was able to obtain of the Veyron. When that thing drove in the crowd forgot about every other car and surrounded it. I now know why the car is so impressive. As it drove by it was silent and the sun reflected off of the blue carbon fiber like a body of water. It is definitely a sight to behold.
