In 2014 we brought you the Central Crown Rally (now known as just Crown Rally). On the rally, we met a fellow enthusiast by the name of Hayley Noll. She shared our enthusiasm and passion for all things automotive. Since then Hayley has started her own endeavor called the Polar Run Rally, which is much different than your usual summer drive with hypercars and matching personalities.
The Polar Run Rally is, as the name suggests, a wintertime rally to give like-minded enthusiasts a nice break during what’s commonly referred to as the “silly season” ie: Winter.
A road rally is a challenge to drive from point A to point B in a certain amount of time that is within the local speed limits. The starting point and destination are announced well ahead of time, but the next checkpoint is given at each previous checkpoint and often time includes back roads that are perfect for driving. In the weeks and months leading up to the rally, each team is tasked with raising money for charity. In this case, it is $65,701 to date!
For the 2020 Rally taking place February 7-9, 2020, Short Shift has teamed up with The Polar Run to bring you a first hand look at what it is like to participate. If you want to join us in the fun, head over to thepolarrun.org and sign up for the rally! Entry includes several meals throughout the weekend, two night hotel stay, vinyl graphics for your vehicle, Polar Run swag, and the invaluable chance to beat the Short Sift team in a rally! This year, we will be taking the newest addition to the SS fleet, Steve’s 2010 Ford F-150 Raptor. We think it will be the perfect rally vehicle. Will you take the challenge?
