The hackneyed midlife crisis mobile has gotten its top chopped for 2014 and I have to say that younger folks like me would actually want one… if we could afford it.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible is an impressive machine inside and out. Not only because of its performance numbers that have been in every magazine across the globe, but because of its refinement. Chevrolet literally had to change nothing to keep the Stingray Convertible exactly like the coupe. For the first time ever, Chevy claims, the coupe and convertible share the exact same aluminum frame structure so there is no added weight or loss of performance when opting for the top down. We like that.
And for you older folks, you can put the top down via the fob key so you can finish your tea on the porch of your retirement home in Arizona without needing to get up. Now that’s multitasking! Also, just in case it starts to rain on your drive to the grocery store, the top will go back into place at speeds up to 30 mph. This is in no way obstructive to the people behind you.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible has managed to look just as fantastic as the coupe while still maintaining the performance we love. Sadly, pricing starts at $58,000 so if you’re old enough to have a midlife crisis, you’re old enough to afford one.
