    #GRIDLIFE: Alpine Horizon 2020

Racing and drifting and off-road, oh my!

If one thing’s for certain, 2020 is not the year of the car meet. However, in early August I managed to sneak away from my garage building (more on that later!) and wedding planning to attend at least one event this year. If I had to choose a single event – and I did- it would definitely be a GRIDLIFE Festival. They are hands down the best events in the States. Even during a pandemic they manage to put on a spectacular show; social distancing and all.

GRIDLIFE: Alpine Horizon is a real life version of everything that makes you want to play Forza Horizon (See the parallel? Word association is neat!), including the off-road bits! It takes place at Pike’s Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colorado.

While we did miss the spectacular live music that comes with typical GRIDLIFE Festivals, the racing had no shortage of entertainment. The touring cup series is always a treat to watch. It comprises the best drivers going wheel-to-wheel in some of the most “relatable” race cars. These aren’t your typical 1000 horsepower Corvettes or fully-kitted BMW M3s. These are Hondas, Mazdas and other “low-cost” race cars. It is spectacularly fun to watch!

As always with GRIDLIFE Festivals, the drifting was equally entertaining. The boys over at Fun-Haver decided to turn things up a bit when Loren Healy jumped his trophy truck OVER Vaughn Gitten Jr. and Chelsea DeNofa, among other drifters. It was intense.

It was a real pleasure to be able to attend GRIDLIFE: Alpine Horizon in 2020 and I can’t wait to visit again. For access to 500+ high resolution photos of the event, please reach out to us via the contact page or message us on Facebook!
