This week is the 2018 Twin Cities Auto Show at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since the show is close to home, we try to make it every year and pick out the most memorable cars. Nowadays nearly every car is pretty good so we picked eleven that really stood out to us. Check out the list below and head out to the show before it ends on March 18th!
2019 Ford Edge ST
Ford is expanding their performance “ST” range to their midsized SUV, the Edge. It comes with a 335 horsepower twin-turbo V6, upgraded suspension, louder exhaust, unique coloring, and a mess of “ST” badges. Will it sell? We’ll find out later this year!
2019 Ford Expedition Platinum
This is Ford’s biggest and fanciest SUV. I like the comfortable front seats, endless entertainment features, and the quality pieces in the Platinum. I did find that the panoramic sunroof robs some head room for tall people and the legroom for adults was a little lacking in the rear seats.
2019 Chevrolet Bolt EV
Chevy’s tiniest EV is gaining some traction. The price is right for an electric car, it looks great, and there is a large infotainment screen. It also has super cool taillights. As with all city cars, the interior is a bit cramped.
2018 Jaguar XF S Sportbrake
Someday America will realize how cool super wagons are. The Jag Sportbrake has endless interior room, an attractive panoramic roof, and plenty of cargo room. Oh, and a 380 horsepower supercharged V6. The only con is its $70,000 starting price. Yikes!
2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar
Also just called the “Velar”, this Range Rover is the “avant-garde” model according to their website. It looks great, has a next-level infotainment center, and retracting door handles. Adults in the back will be slightly cramped.
2019 Audi RS3
The RS3 is Audi’s smallest, and cutest, RS model in the U.S. It’s a race-bred compact with quality materials, high-end leather, and a fully digital dashboard. It also has plenty of power, grip, and sass.
2019 Audi SQ5
This might have been my favorite vehicle at the Twin Cities Auto Show this year. It really stole my heart. It’s the perfect size, has immensely quality materials, and looks fantastic. I can’t find any cons.
2018 Lexus GS F
Lexus really nailed this car with their paint coloring. There’s carbon fiber everywhere and bits that make you feel like you’re in a race car. Unfortunately, this car has nearly no leg room in the rear. *Note: Keep an eye out for the 10-years of “F” anniversary edition of this car coming soon!
2018 Infiniti Q60 Sport
Infiniti’s luxury sports car is a big surprise. The interior materials are top notch, its surprisingly spacious, and the infotainment is great. However, I’m not crazy about the rear end or that front badge.
2018 Toyota Camry XSE
Toyota’s mid-sized sedan finally looks the part. It’s a good looking car for the right price. It’s also very comfortable. Some exterior and interior bits feel cheap, but what’d you expect?
2018 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF
Quite possible Mazda’s best looking car, the Miata RF hardtop is a great budget sports car. The paint colors are great and the interior is quality. People over 6′ not allowed.
2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia
Pronounced closer to “Julia”, the Alfa Giulia is one of the best looking sedans on the road. The interior is quality and the paddle shifters are something you always want your hands to touch. However, it does have a funky sunroof that robs some headroom.
