Last week I went to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for some much needed R&R. I know, I know: pandemic. But my wife and I were both vaccinated, had an expiring flight voucher, and needed to get outside and enjoy some time in the sun before we lost our damn minds!
Of course, while we were there, I had to do a bit of car spotting. The scene in FL was a stark difference from the Midwest. It seemed to me that in the Midwest we shop for the car that will give us the most room and/or value, while down by the beach they ask, “What’s the most expensive car I can afford without going broke?” To put it plainly, it would be unusual to see a base model of anything.
